Link your till

Your till sends the amount. The card machine takes the payment.

Link your till or EPOS to your card machines and nobody types an amount twice. The result goes straight back to the till, approved or not.

How it works

Three steps, every sale

  1. 1. The till sends a payment request

The amount and a reference go to the card machine you choose.

  2. 2. The card machine shows it

Staff hand it over. The customer adds a tip if the prompt is on, then pays.

  3. 3. The till gets the result

Approved, declined or cancelled, with the amount, tip and receipt text.

Two ways to connect

On your shop's network or through the cloud

Both use the same requests and the same key, so a till can start with one and move to the other.

On your shop's network

The till talks straight to the card machine over your own network, using a secure HTTPS connection and the till's key. The request reaches the machine straight away.

  • No waiting for the machine to check in
  • HTTPS and the till's own key on every call

Through the cloud

The till sends requests over the internet and the paired card machine picks them up. Results come back by webhook, live updates or by asking.

  • Nothing to set up on your network
  • Works for tills hosted in the cloud

For developers

A developer guide for you or your till provider

We'll send the developer guide on request: payment requests, results by webhook or live updates, cancelling, referenced refunds and receipt text. Test keys let you build without real money.

  • Money in pence

Amounts are whole numbers of pence, so £45.00 is 4500. No rounding surprises.

  • Refunds from the till

Refund a payment the till took, in full or in part, by referring to it.

  • No card data at the till

The card is read by the card machine. Your till never sees card details or payment provider credentials.

  • Safe to retry

Requests carry an idempotency key, so a till that retries never charges twice.

Tell us which till you use

Mention your till or EPOS in your quote request and we'll tell you how it links up.
